Arillas "musts"
« on: July 21, 2012, 03:56:36 PM »
Our ninth visit to Arillas starts in 6 weeks ... longing to be there.
Each time we stay, we repeat several trips/visits and this is our must do list:

Hire a scooter
Dinner in Afionas
Iced coffee at the small cafe in Pagoi
A swim in the "Golden Fox" pool (overlooking Paleo)
A meal at Brouklis,
Evening drinks at Gravia bar
Early morning visit to Supermarket Kostas for bread, cheese fruit and a chat
Drinks and ice cream in the shady square of the lovely village Doukades
Late afternoon nap!
A night cap in Anna's bar

Wonder what is on everyone's must do list?

I'm sorry, but our list is simpler.

"Be here."

The rest is incidental.

The swim in the paleo pool sounds divine HH as do all your 'musts' but every year despite good intentions Arillas keeps us in situ!

Rachel

I am not sure if the "Glass Boat" is still moored at Paleo. I seem to remember it is/was moved to Cprfu Town harbour. Someone will put me right, I hope.

I hope it is - shame if it's not!

On their (Nautilus) website, it's advertised as being open from 9:30 am and says they're doing hourly trips daily from Paelo.

Oh well, I guess i'll find out when i get there! lol

We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yelllow submarine....

In truth, we all live in our virtual Arillas all the time we are not actually there. Sad? No. Happy? YES!

Determine not to drink until tomorrow
Have a beer just after breakfast :-)
Choose a pebble from the beach to bring home
Have an afternoon nap every day - such luxury!
Say hello to everyone who walks by
Give a mark out of 10 for my daily greek salad from different restaurants
Buy ankle bracelets at Yiota's
Walk
Have another beer
Watch a cloud
Spend ages deciding what to wear of an evening
Spend ages deciding where to eat of an evening
Definitely plan to go somewhere the next day, then not do it
Count how many days I've got left
Decide on my favourite restaurant then change my mind again
Choose to have an early night and somehow walk (wobble) home as it's getting light
Pick my book up then stare at the sea
