Terry, Bill says he really doesn't remember draining that glass(I only have his word for it) so I hope he wasn't that thirsty....but he says he only had the one!

It really is a shame that you can't get to try it Terry, :( but Bill will have one for you tomorrow if the second batch is on :) and this if he has another :)

Anyone who is lucky enough to try Ionian Coffee Porter please think of those can't get to taste it.

Neill, Wendy can have the glass back, much too big for Bill. He's not a very good swimmer. Lol x

Was it the disappointment on my face? The manager had told me they weren't going to put it on, and we nearly went elsewhere on my day off today.

But lo and behold, we went to Wetherspoons and they had relented. It was Arillas Today for me. Ionian Coffee Porter was on offer!

I only had two pints (the second was naughty - I had to drive) but would have had more if I could. It is a delightful drink. The hint of coffee flavour was  lost on Jen, but I detected it. It is much like old fashioned mild ale, but stronger at 4.5%. It is dark but not heavy like stout is. It slips down without a murmur and really hits the B-spot. No gas, just a pleasant real ale froth. Klaudio should be justifiably proud of his achievement with creating this very special ale.

I bored the barman witless with tales of Arillas and the brewery whilst he was serving me. But then I have that effect on most people......

Phil

Terry I wasn't going to tell you....... but Bill has been back for three sessions. It would have been four but one Wetherspoons he visited was shut because it was being renovated.
So he returned on Sunday to our local one. Sorry to rub salt in the wound.
Hoping to pick up your pump clip at the weekend......he will be devastated if he doesn't get it.

Phil you needn't feel guilty about boring anyone, Bill has done it to every bar person who has served him over the last two weeks.
Just hope they book to visit Arillas just to shut him up. ;)

Terry
Us Blackcountry folk have an absolute plethora of Wetherspoons to visit, Just incase you have to be passing you could call into one of the following

Full Moon Dudley, Waterfront Merry Hill, Abraham Darby Merry Hill,
Moon Under Water Cradley Heath, Britannia Rowley Regis,
William Shenstone Halesowen, The Court of Requests Oldbury,
The Edward Rutland and The Chequers Inn Stourbridge,
The Billiard Hall Westbromwich, The Clifton Sedgley, plus lots more

All within 4 miles of home ..... Blackcountry Bus tours do a full night Visiting a lot of the pubs mentioned, Now that could be a good night out

I had a package arrive today and inside was a Pump label for the coffee porter beer that Wetherspoons have been selling. Bill (Van n Bill) got it from his local Wetherspoons and Val kindly posted it to me. They also gave me the Koroibos label from last year, when we saw them in Arillas last July. So here is Corfu Beer picture . Thanks again Val n Bill.

You are very welcome Terry...... when Bill picked it up it still had sticky Ionian Coffee Porter splashes on the back, I washed them off because we thought that was too cruel seeing as you never got to taste it. (Also didn't want you using it as a lollipop).
