Taxi Transfer
« on: October 18, 2005, 10:20:22 AM »
Hi All

We're going to Arillas (our third visit in 2 years) next June and whereas there's usually just the two of us, this time there will be 6.
We want to avoid the coach transfer to and from the airport so was wondering if anyone can recommend a firm who could arrange a taxi for us bearing in mind there will be 6 people with luggage.

Thanks for any help.

For 6 people + luggage then Olga @ "Arillas Travel" springs to mind. You can fax her on 00302663051381 and she'll come back with a price.

Hi, when we took all the family last year we arranged with Arkokal Travel to pick us up at te airport in the mini bus.  Think it cost 70 Euro each way, was so easy and stress free.  I'm sure the email address is on the home page if not let me know and I can give you their phone number.

We are staying in Arillas next June and have read that it is only about 1/2 hr away by car but almost 2hrs or more on the coach.  As we have a night flight we arrive about 05.00 a.m. then to get on the coach for another 2 hrs will be horrendous so we are thinking of a taxi to Arillas instead.  Would we have to book it before we get there for that time of the morning and also  does anyone have any idea approx.how much it might cost.  We also have a night flight going back (then we dont waste the days) but going on the coach to the airport is not so bad, we will not be in such a hurry to go.  Thanks!

We travelled with thomson this year and have done for the last 4 visits to Arillas and the journey as only been one and a half hours - apparently Thomson have stopped the dropping off in Sidari on the way.

we have travelled by taxi to arillas the past 3 visits, it has cost us 50 euros each time whether there was 2 or 4 of us. this was just flagging a taxi down at the airport and the journey was about 45 minutes. you would need to be very lucky to pick one up at airport at 5am though, our son arrived at that time this year and there were no taxis there. the other thing to think about is that when you arrive at that time it is usually the rep that shows you to your accomodation, if travelling by taxi you need to know exact directions to accomodation once you get to arillas and your room number, usually at that time, the key is left in the door.

Hello Blondegirl,

If you email the Galini (I'm sure you said in another posting that you are staying there)  fenos@galini-hotel.com  they should be able to arrange a taxi to collect you at the airport.

We booked the Galini independently and stayed there for 5 days in mid-September.  It was very quiet then, but that leaves more room by the pool. :D

A taxi should not cost you more than 45 euros - we paid 35 in October.  You need to determine the price with the driver before you set off.

We actually managed to get a taxi at 3.30am in August as we didn't want the long coach drive.  We asked a taxi driver who was dropping someone off and he phoned another driver who was already in Corfu, but who lived in the Arillas area - the taxi arrived in 5 minutes.  Most impressive!

Hi All,
The first time we traveled with Thomas Cook to Arillas it took us about three hours on a night flight.

But we found out if you book before you go it will only cost 35 Euros.
If you phone Damitri at the Brouklis he can sort it for you.

There are always plenty of taxis outside the airport - as they know obviously when the busiest flight days are.  Its really not fair asking Dimitris if you are not staying at his accommodation - he's the proprietor of a restaurant/accomm - not a travel agent.

And there are links on this site too.

I'm SORRY   how thoughtless of me.

I know dimitris is very busy. Just trying to say if you know someone in Arillas that will book a taxi for you it is a lot cheaper.
