We are coming for the first time in July and staying at Makris Studios. With all this talk about lighting, should we take a torch for the road back to Makris

I think , regardless of the lighting, it would pay to take a decent torch anyway.
(Many people do, and it's a great help for car drivers on these "narrower" roads)

Just a thought on the lighting, or lack of.

We had a 4/5 hour power cut, around this area, yesterday. Maybe the electric company have been repairing the lighting?
This morning we had a short power cut and this is what they do when any "repair" gets back on the circuit, (If that makes sense)

Interesting to see if there are lights tonight.

The only lights along the beach road last night were from the shops and tavernas....but the street lights seem to be on along all of the other roads.... We have not been up as far as Makris and Tria on the back road yet at night though.

The lights along the front were on last night, but it wouldn't matter if all the lights were off. It's just great to be back in a place where everyone makes you feel special.

So many sneaky peeks. But you suddenly realise that apart from the total destruction of  the buildings along the seafront, you don't even care. Nothing changes in Arillas. Love and welcome are the same everywhere.

Well for us there is a big change.......we are leaving today, just waiting to go to the airport.......lots of goodbyes this morning, therefore lots of tears.

We will be home again 26th Aug. it seems such a long time to wait to sleep in my bed at the Mathraki again. Nico has just made us some ham rolls for the plane and given us some olives to bring back with us......big jar I hope they last....will only eat one a day ha ha. As if!!
