Same here, Phil!!    So much more to Arillas than sunbeds on the beach.
Greek bureaucracy is a nightmare, as we know, so normal service will be resumed with the arrival of said permits!!

Agree there is so much more to Arillas than sunbeds, but let's not forget the beach plays a big part in most folks holidays.  Sunbeds allow the less able bodied to enjoy the beach as much as the rest of us. (example of difficulties of lying on sand at beginning of topic)

Just sat here in Horizon with my latte and can see there are just about a doz sunbeds on the beach but don't seem to be anybody about wanting money for them. They are just piled to help yourself??? But no brollys

Just seems so silly to me plenty of people around on beach with money to spend on sunbeds but can't and considering the state of the country they need all they can get.

Ah well nice wander back to Kaloudis for another gruelling few hours on my sunbed there.

I'd forgotten about the street lighting problem. As we are staying at the Makris Studios, that is really worrying.

I must admit as a seasoned traveller to arillas we do love to share our time between the pool and the beach, be it lying on the sand or on a lounger, we love our time there. But this year bringing my mum for her 70th birthday treat i know she wouldnt be able to get up from the sand so a lounger she would need. I know many of us on here just love the place so we dont mind the odd inconvienance here and there as long as we are at home. But to attract and keep more regular visitors to arillas, to have lighting and sun loungers on the beach is a must as alot of holiday makers look for that espicially families.
Rant over and i for one shall be returning year on year as arillas is about the people as well as the amentities, but 1st impressions do count.

If you read the thread what changes in Arillas for 2013 there are a couple of posts from around the 5th/6th June to say the lighting is working on the front.

Latest update, just seen the sunbed guy with the straw hat collecting money. Been chatting to Horizon barman and he says sunbed man no licence as yet but he is now working the beach. Did notice though no brollys as yet.
Don't know the price but I will let you know later, hope to have the day down there tomorrow.

There are sunbeds  on the beach . This picture was taken this morning . One of local councilors told me that from tomorow there will be normal service as usual as far as the sunbed situation is concerned.

( I never trust the local councelors) Lets see what happens!!

Good news!!  Thanks for the update and photo.  Plenty of sand, too.

Bumped into Petros, today, and he's like the cat that has finally got the cream!!

A good guy and he , plus others, who have now got their beach plots, will look after you all.

Well done Arillas. All's well that ends well, as Will would say.
