Hi, I love swimming in the sea, we arrive in two weeks, will it be warm enough and what is the sunbed situation?

Freezing I would think ! lol . Its always hard to get into the sea in May anywhere i Greece , not impossible but hard. The last week in May last year was VERY windy, the pedaloes didn't show all week because of it

Over my recent "travels", during the last few days, I have seen many people "enjoying" the sea at Sidari, Ag.Georgos, and Arillas.

Looks chilly though, and if our "Ref John" says it's cold, the only way you would get me in the water is throw a few ouzos in it. (Well, more than a few, actually)
(Ice is already there!)

I'll be in the water at the start of June regardless.  Used to surf north Devon and Cornwall in my yoof and it was brass monkeys whatever the time of year so I'm hoping it will feel like tepid bath in comparison (listen for the screams....)

Yeh I live in Cornwall and still in the sea in October, so I think it will be a lot warmer in Corfu x

Hopefully this year will be warmer than last. We visited end of June 2013 and never known the sea so cold in Greece. Recently been to Thailand and the sea was so warm it could be described as hot. Might manage a week at the end of September, not sure if it will be Arillas or maybe Crete or Rhodes, so hoping the sea will still be warm (ish) then :-)

Gaz, Rhodes is much further South. 360 days a year of sun, everything is brown. I have only ever felt warm in the sea in Rhodes (but in mid season so no surprise.) I love Rodos, it is the only other place I would spend my limited money on.

My original wedding ring is buried in the sea at Faliraki (long before the TV disaster called Greece Uncovered or similar.) It just slipped off my finger. Needless to say I am still married and happily so to my Jen.

If you go to Rhodes,  visit the Old Town. So gorgeous. There is even a little beach. But no apologies. Mistraio, thunderstorms, politics or anything, I have arrived as an Arilliac, and will never change. Nobody can take it away from us.

As for the sea, you will only see me in there when it is warm. In October it is superb, and almost nobody else bothers.

Phil
