The mermaid could in time will become the  arillas equivalent to Dublins molly malone [the tart with the cart ] or james joyce[the p***k with the stick] can  anybody think of  a witty nickname for the statue.

Looks fab but like others say her hand looks a tad 'big'...... love the sand one!

Absolutely wonderful viv. Now I have to go on my own, I never take the camera to North beach. But your pics have given me second thoughts. No-one, not even Eggy would think the worst of me taking pics of such great sand art. Thank you for posting them.

And for my halfpenny worth, I like Jean's sculpture, and feel it adds to, not detracts from my favourite mile of coastline on earth.

I must admit that I was getting on quite well with the lady in the 2nd pic.......

...... But then , when the tide came in she buggered off. - Maybe something I said??

So , c'mon peeps! - Name the Arilliac who posed for these! - A mine field beckons!!
( I did the tortoise. Took so long and was so hot I ended up shell shocked!! )

And the "bear". The smile reminds me of some one on his 5th Mythos.

THE MERMAIDīS HANDS???
Dear fellow Arilliacs, can it be that you have never met a real Mermaid? Because then you would know that her hands are webbed!
Hence, if you ever meet one with unwebbed hands, beware! She is a fake!
(By the way, there is a lovely short story about a Mermaid by the Italian author Giuseppe di Lampedusa, called The Professor and the Siren, which I recommend. It has been published in Penguin. Anybody who falls in love with a Mermaid does it at his or her peril.)

OMG. And I thought it was me who had problems. I love the Gail with the Tail. Jean has served Arillas well with a controversial sculpture. Personally I

A book about a Mermaid , published by a Penguin? - Definitely something fishy going on!

It appears someone wanted to cover up the mermaid, tonight! As someone adorned it with a bikini top. Ha..
