Arillas Trail
« on: August 20, 2015, 07:31:56 PM »
Has anyone used the Arillas Trail lately? In May & June I used it almost daily but by the time I left Arillas in early July part of it was overgrown, and if you didn't know where it was, difficult to follow. The worst part was alongside the poly tunnels, if you started from Thalassa it was the section between the 2nd and 3rd "bridges". Any recent users able to give an update? Thanks!

We tried it in mid July - left from beside Armourada. Found it quite difficult to follow. A lot of ditch jumping which didn't suit us as we had our daughter with us. We got to a part where both bridges seemed to have been damaged and there was no other immediately obvious route. Enjoyed the wildlife we saw in the short section we could manage.

Thanks Linsey, looks like I'll have to give it a miss in Sept/Oct, shame!

That is a real shame - I was looking forward to walking the trail (we have 9 more sleeps, till we are in paradise). I know there are plenty of other walks to do as we have done some, but can anyone suggest a walk in and around Arillas. Thanks   Ursula

I think you can still walk the trail but you need to start from Angela's apartments, just past the bakers. As far as I know it is only the path from Angela's to Thalassa along the stream which is overgrown.

Thanks for all your reports,
It has been a very busy July & August. We did not have much time to inspect the conditions of the trail  . it was also sooo hot that I would'nt dare walking there durring the day.
Today "someone" has cleared the overgown babboos and weeds  from the beach untill the bridge.
tomorow the rest of the trail will be cleared too.
So the Arillas trail  is waiting for all you September- Arillas Walkers!!
Have a nice afternoon from Arillas where the temperature i right now is: 81.4 F (27.4 C)  sunny and not a single cloud in teh sky..

Dimitris
Your typing is very good and there were no errors in your posting. It is just a "play" on words.
I will see you today and explain .
(A little like misreading the word for "lamb chops" as "little children" You may remember that caused a smile when I was ordered the wrong meal)

Anyway , good news about the Arillas Trail. As you know Wegg has already done this and, when the weather cools she will be attempting it again.

Cheers
Negg

Interested to know who holds the "record" for the number of times they have done the Arillas Trail.

Is once enough? Is 2 too many? - Who always comes back for more?
