Late summer weather
« on: July 12, 2016, 07:36:31 PM »
Having always gone to Arillas in June/July this year we are going the last week in September. Christine wants to know if she'll need a cardigan for the evening or is it still warm. Daytime temperature? Is the sea warm?. Any information welcome.                                                                        Regards Barry and Christine

We went Mid Sept a couple of years ago. had a few stormy days. One afternoon we decided to walk along past the Akrotiri. You could see all the storms over the sea. We decided we'd better head back towards the Akrotiri for lunch when we heard a huge crack of thunder above us. We just made it before the heavens opened. Nikos shut all the doors & we were all stranded for a couple of hours in the storm. Lovely place to be stranded though, had a nice lunch & a few glasses of wine before walking back down to arillas. Best to take a waterpoof too at that time of year!

Got back yesterday from our late summer break. What a wonderful time to visit Arillas. So quiet and peaceful. The weather was perfect for us, warm enough for the beach and sea by day and not too chilly when eating out. Stayed at Alex studios, so convenient for everything.  Alex and Stella made us both very welcome and their apartments are excellent. Bowl of fruit, tea, coffee and water on arrival. Very happy with our room at the rear but happier when Stella told us we could move to the front after a couple of days. Sitting on your balcony watching the sunset with a glass of ouzo is our idea of heaven. Loved it that much that despite already having booked the Marina for two weeks next June we decided splash out and booked Alex studios for two weeks next September as well.

Brill Barry. We had some friends stay there a few years back and they loved it also.

There was this couple from the North
who each fall to Arillas drew forth
They saw both rain and some thunder
but as bars have roofs to sit under
they found all weathers of equal worth
