Post by: TerryW on July 02, 2012, 05:59:14 PM
The Horizon and other Arillas bars had the first deliveries of the new new 1842 Ginger Beer from Corfu Beer. Its only 2% and its very nice and refreshing. Its €3.50 per bottle and its a very attractive bottle

Just come back from Brettas Supermarket and this is on offer at e1.35 a bottle.

I have some, cooling, in the fridge, waiting for the "Eggy Verdict"

Probably local supermarkets are selling this as well, around the same price, but e3.50 at a Bar, or Taverna/ Hotel for a 2% volume Ginger Beer sounds like a good deal to me.

Also, maybe take a tour around the beer factory. I'm told, at the end of the tour you get to buy the special ales/barley wine/ginger beer at a knock down price. Ex-visitors may know more.

Cheers

Just tried it.

Not a heavy smell of ginger to it, but tastes very good. Not much fizz to it but then, the "Jamaican Beer" from the UK shop is non alcoholic and, being in a can is highly carbonated. We pay 1e a can from the UK shop for this one.

Couldn't resist trying this Corfu one with whisky and very palatable it is to.
A good alternative for whisky and ginger ale. Wonder what it's like with Ouzo?
(Or maybe a tad of Drambuie?)
I think a few extra bottles, in the fridge, is a must.
Cheers
