I dont know if I am putting this in the right bit but I am an avid walker and want to get work for the season as a walking guide. Is anyone interested in employing me at one of the many hotels.I have spent ten years in san stefano walking from the Romanza Hotel I am over in may .Contact them and ask for Katrina Many Thanks ....x
-
Good look to you Kat!
I am thinking of advertising myself as a drinking guide and helping the holidaymakers to find the best Pina Colada lol x
-
jp ,,easy ammos .......yammas

Thats a good idea if I dont get work as a walking guide I wonder it they need a taster for the corfiot beer place .Or mythos or Boutari wine. Why dont we hire ourselfs out for beer tasting. Not anything else may I add.
-
I'll volunteer for retsina tasting.....
-
At this rate I could be doing the beach litter picking full time.....oh think of the tan though!
-
I'll volunteer for retsina tasting.....
And I volunteer to be the Royal Ionian ambassador ;)
-
It's quite a nice walk from the Malibu to the Coconut and not too strenuous either and you wont need to carry much liquid with you ;-)
-
Hi Tonynew
Can we put our names down to go on your walk please? It is exactly what we are looking for on holiday.
Sandra and Jim
-
It will be like a (1)18-(1)30's bar crawl at this rate !!! he he . Count me in !
-
Any more takers ? i must stress though the walk back from the Coconut to the Malibu is all up hill and for the more adventurous in us plus the fact that several pints of Royal Ionion or Mythos in the Nut could lead to severe consequences for the faint hearted ;-)
-
We could get George to lengthen the bridge, have to be careful with the terrapins/tortuous though!
-
Might have to nip into the Akti to use the loo on the way back to Malibu Tony, but only if you all wait for me in case I get lost.
Val x ;)
-
Will lend you my torch just in case Val
-
Yipeee, is one of those I can wear on my head Tony? Always fancied one of them, then I could manage a bottle in each hand!!
Val x
-
Tony, we could go to the Malibu first and then it's all down hill to the Nut! I'll volunteer to carry the plasters for all the blisters incurred on our trip!
Sandra
-
Who's carrying the supplies though ,It's a long way from base camp to the Nut and i don't want to be uttering Lawrence Oates last words "I am just going outside and may be some time" although in the past i have been more tham some time when going out for a pint ;-)
-
I've read many books about walks but I can't find this one in any of my usual sources. Mind you, I've done this exact walk more times than I can remember. With and without bottles, with and without legs....
Mind yous, there are many others. Rainbow to Brouklis, Mirage to Thalassa, Marina to Kaloudis, Thalassa to Coconut.... I could provide details of all of them.
Could this turn out to be my vocation and future career?

As long as I can be your guide just make sure I dont dehydrate.I will have to have plenty of samples of the liquid on route so non of you drink something thats bad for you so if I fall over after a few you know you will all be ok........
-
Phil we can't fit them all in one walk! Tony bring spare batteries for my torch!
Also a strecher for Kat, looks like she will need it before anyone else.
Best walk I ever did was last June, Coconut to Horizon then on to Akti, I woke up in my own bed at Mathraki the next morning with no knowledge of how I got there or when, and we were on the top floor.
Those glasses of water Hanna serves me with my ouzo are lethal.
When we went in July I was sober every night (after the walk up to Makris).

Erja meluvver, we's two would be the bestest possible guides to alcoholic Arillas. You can do the beer and I'll look after the politically correct Russians. (Black or white, I love them both....)
wish we could be there in September

we were very bold one night, started at graziella then mirage, horizon, cocunut, malibu then rainbow then up the stairs to slumberland. Jenny the cleaner had been told not to go to number 1 before 2pm "cos they won't be up before then" by Jimmy, he knows us so well - "Good afternoon Mr and Mrs Uuume is the normal greeting!! not too loud please Spiro!!!
Maybe for the willing but not able a tin of red bull will do the job - it gives you wings - no supplies needed, no torches, no plasters, just a working elbow!

Yep, I would be down hill all the way from The Brewery during my beer tour of Arillas Phil luvver! :D :D :D

Do you think we all have alcohol problems....
-
No, it's only a problem if the bar is closed, the Coconut will stay open until the last punter has gone!
-
Excellent will do some research when I am over.
-
loving this. The thread is supposed to be about walking. But we're all busy trying to prove that even if you can only waddle, or be carried, you can have whale of a time in Arillas. I gather they even provided the whale this year....
tongue in cheek

Its jo wissets fault she started it!
-
kat, our lovely Jo starts lots of things. But somehow I identify with all of them. Like me and Jen, she and all of her family are Arilliacs to the core.

We have found that a nice walk from our studio in the Rainbow to the bar in the evening for a drink followed by a walk to a table for dinner, followed by a stroll back to the bar, then a walk to the coconut bar or some other drinking den is more than enough.
Sometimes we are really adventurous and swap the eating part for the Brouklis or another excellent eaterie.
-
Hiys Kat
No...... nobody has a problem with alcohol in Arillas - there is plenty to go around!!
I applaud your "walking venture" but fear that I would be far too slow to make use of your service. I have walked to Afionas and San Steph but find that my "one foot in front of the other approach" works fine for me but tends to take a veeeeeery long time. No rush and plenty of stops along the way.
Did we meet in the Romanza with Katerina last September? Seem to remember your lovely smiling face my dear? Good luck with your enterprising idea.
Cheers Nan xx

This topic is why I b*****y love you all - its just what Phil and I want from our holiday - sauntering from one place to another - meeting lots of lovely peeps - and partaking of a few glasses of wine (me) / Bacardi & coke (Phil). Soaking up the alcohol with some lovely meals in between. Roll on May 28th. Anne xx
-
Sounds good to me t'other Anne. I thought that was all anybody ever did in Arillas... Was I so wrong then? I've got so much to learn. Just a novice me.....

Please note it should read I am away till march 29th not may 29th that would be too long I would miss my flight to corfu and I would never do that ....
