Title: Parking Information for Gatwick transfers
Post by: blondegirl on December 15, 2008, 11:45:13 AM
If anyone is interested - a good site to look at for Gatwick parking is:

www.gatwick-parking-discounts.co.uk

Meet and Greet seems to be a cheap option.. we have done this at Stansted.. if you feel you can trust them to look after your car for you, but they usually have to have the keys anyway and might need to move your car around the car parks if you leave it.

Oh! if only we had the space we could earn a small fortune and it would pay for our holiday in Arillas!

Just been given a good guest house, recommended by a friend. manorhouse-gatwick.co.uk. we've just booked with them great deals and close to airport. Cheaper with a nights accommodation than the airport.

We have plumped for the Europa hotel near Gatwick, came out at £120 for five of us including 15 nights parking (in peak season as well).  Can't really grumble at that. We booked through skyparksecure.com as had used them up north in the past.

I used one of these park and fly companies last year at Gatwick, and I was suprised how good they were. Just turn up, park in the que, book in and go on holiday. When you come back you board the bus at the terminal, get to the pick up point for your car, and as if by magic, its at the front of the que for you to get in and away.

Simple. I was as I say impressed.

Doing the same this year.

We booked Meet & Greet parking at Gatwick several months ago, straight after booking the flights and it was just over £120 for five weeks - thought it was an amazing bargain especially as it was only a third of the price of anything else on offer!  Slightly worried about the horror stories of the car being used in your absence so we will take the mileage before leaving the car!

Happy Arillas hols to everyone who is off there this year.

We've just got £89 for a room for 4 and 15 days parking at the Gatwick Holiday Inn. Add £3 a head x 4 x 2 for the transfer to the terminal and that's £113 for the lot and that's end of July/beginning of August!

Pleased with that.

Whenever we go from Gatwick we get a cheap train (about £60 for two from Castle Cary) and if the return arrives too late, we stay over for about same again. No driving, no petrol, so no worries about a drink or three on the journey....

But for a family, these hotel deals sound extremely good value. It's the parking that makes the difference. Well done fishski for posting this again. Bound to help someone on our forum.

we're parking in the long stay ncp at birmingham airport, did it last year and parked so close we walked to the terminal, but it's only a 10minute bus ride from the furthest point, and only a few pounds more that parking in one of the off site parks, which are a 20 - 30 min bus ride.  you park the car yourself and keep your keys so no danger of anyone "using" your car.

I once parked my car at Manchester Airport and took my keys, on return i was shocked to find it had been moved.

That's what I've done in the past....but it costs £150. When I go on my own I go by coach - it leaves Southampton at 1am and costs £30 return.

Hi Riggers, we have had a night stay and parking at manchester ( crown plaza) several times ans requested that the car stays in the hotel car park, it has been in exactly the same place each time we have got back. so I think the thing to do is ask nicely. To have the keys with you and find the car has been moved is surely  against the law, or is it being on private grounds. I would mke it my buisness to find out. Viv
