Oh no! the webcam isn't working, or is it just me? Is there something wrong with my laptop or is there a problem with the camera? Whatever it is I hope it's nothing serious as I can't survive long without my daily fix of the webcam. 82 days to go and I need to have a look at least twice a day.
-
Its not working on mine either so there must be a problem.. I went on earlier and it was going a bit funny then.
-
Nor me. Missed my daily update a lot....
Phil
-
Me either, I keep checking but no luck :(
-
Well mine has been ok all day, I must have looked at it about twenty times today.
Think maybe it's terrified of upsetting me.

lol Val meluvver. Everyone stands in awe of yous. But twenty times? Obsession.... Compulsion..... Did you really? Oh yes. It's just that i don't admit it. Love is.............

I seem to have a problem. I use my Kindle Fire but suddenly can't get the webcam. I'm sure it's not s webcam problem or others would be reporting it any ideas ?
-
I can't see it either, I think there must be a problem, hope it's nothing serious. Just 22 days to go now.
-
The live webcam streaming is currently down...
I forgot to update something ..... it will be working again in two or three days depending on some technical respond.
We must compromise with the current still image which updates every 5 minutes.

Thanks for replying I thought there was something wrong at my end.
-
For withdrawal symptoms you can try this one
http://www.arillas.com/webcam/live.html (http://www.arillas.com/webcam/live.html)
It should only work on windows and android devices or pc's as it is not supported by mac ( iphone, ipad etc)
-
Aaaah that's better, Thank you.
-
It looks quite a lot better for real........... And Gravia island is the same shape and size as last year. I must have spent 100 hours viewing it from Graziella by now, including the three on Wednesday.

Wont Need The Webcam Tomorrow
I will be watching for real :-)

Hello! I seem to have that black blank screen again. Dimitris's link isn't working either. I'm missing my daily fix! Help! :(
Ann xx
-
Warm, sunny, peaceful and calm seas...in fact...perfect!
-
Same here Ann, I was distressed yesterday......today I am distraught. :(
Can't manage without my daily "fix"
Val x

Yes! the camera is down... After a small power-cut on last Friday, the Web-cam ccd censor is showing black . Additionally some of the local public steet lights have stopped working since then...
My self and Akis (from the MAthraki) Apartments are working on a solution to replace either the camera or the ccd censor .
We will keep you informed!
-
I don't mind the webcam not working. Sorry for being so selfish but when you are getting the real deal with a view from the Horizon. 😀
Just hope its working next week
-
Sometimes Terry I think you're very cruel. :( :(
Val x
-
lol Val meluvver. Terry is there, we are not. Sadly true, but it's how it works. I don't begrudge him his "15 minutes" to misquote Andy Warhol. I have had four weeks this year of seeing it all for real. But boy am I missing my regular look at the cam!
The technology we rely on for our lives these days is awe inspiring, but we take it for granted. The webcam service has been amazingly good, but depends on so many things. We are so lucky to have anything at all like this. Like you, I find life "austere" without a real look at my fav place on earth every day. But like in the War, I suffer it dilligently.
Dimitri my dear friend, please "get your finger out....."
Phil
(I will explain what that means in April if it sounds wrong Dimitri)
Best wishes to Terry, Helen and family
-
I wish all Arilliacs were here to see what the webcam cannot show
-
Thank you Terry, enjoy. Just wish we were there with you.....:) :)

This morning....another warm and sunny day with little breeze. A perfect September day in Arillas. The beach is calling......
-
Thanks Terry and Sandy and big thanks to Dimitris who is doing his best. But missing it soooo much because if I had a webcam looking out of my window right now I still wouldn't see anything as it's a real pea souper!!! :(

-
To all you people who are missing the 'web cam'. It might make you feel better to know that during the month of September the weather in most areas of the U.K was actually better than Arillas so why not look at some lovely pictures of the beautiful Cornish coast or of any other pictures of our many amazing coastal areas of the U.K and it might help you to feel better until the 'web cam' is back in working order!

Another glorious day here in Arillas....

Sheeze a teeze is our Sandy.
(Be nice to our UK pals but don't be so honest!)
Negg

Thanks Sandy, I can shut my eyes and see the view...... but I still wish I was there.

-
Looks like we've woken to another lovely day...sun is already out and it's warming up nicely. Pity I'm flying back to the UK this morning...
-
Soak it up Sandy......tomorrows picture is no comparison. Unless of course the web cam is fixed.
Val x
-
The webcam is not fixed yet...
but we have created a replacement untill we will find a solution for the Arillas webcam.
AKIS ( from mathraki Apts) and Spiros (from Thalassa restaurant) offered to work and host the replacement camera just outside Thalassa .. a big thanks to them!!!!

Looking as beautiful as ever. Roll on next June!
-
Thanks Akis and Spiros have a good winter
-
Many thanks to Akis and Spiros!
Phil
-
Many thanks to Spiros and my lovely boy Akis, and thank you both for showing us a beautiful sunset tonight.
We all know that everyone will be working hard to get the webcam up and running as soon as it is possible.

Its very difficult to manage and install a webcam and also very expensive.
An ideal camera would be an Axis 213 network camera PTZ ( I think that's what Dimitris said and he doesn't know that I was going to do this post)
https://www.casetac.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=257364¤cy=GBP&language=en
As you can see it is very expensive.
After having the pleasure of seeing the webcam pictures, nearly everyday for over seven years and at no cost, I feel that a donation would be money well spent for many more years of pleasure.
This is just "thinking out loud", at the moment, but how would other members feel about donations towards a new camera. Or is there a rich person who would like to sponsor one. These ideas are entirely my own but I would love to think that I had contributed towards a new camera.
Also, someone on the forum may have "connections" with an audio/visual company who could do a good deal on a camera.
I think something like €50.00 would be a good contribution for something that gives such pleasure. Thats less than 12 pence a day.
What do you think?
-
Well after many a day gazing at the webcam pic I would be more than happy to contrubute. Many forget that Dimitris runs this website in his own time at probably considerable cost.
-
I never certainly never realised the price of these cameras.
Tis an "eye opener" indeed.

I must admit I thought it was owned and run by the Horizon Hotel as a lot of hotels have webcams on to promote their business.
I also have to admit to having a love/hate relationship with the webcam as it is a bit like now having everything at our fingertips in that it can take the excitement out of things and it becomes no longer as special. Don't get me wrong I never tire of looking at the beautiful sunsets. Its like before DVDs n netflickd we used to have to wait til Christmas every year to see our favourite films like the wizard of oz every Christmas eve - somehow being able to watch it anytime takes the speciality away from it. Having said that I still can't help but look - at the webcam that is.
-
Good food for thought , Sonia.
Do y'all know that the price of that webcam, in euros, relates to the price I paid for dear 'ole Punto.

You were robbed Neil, you were robbed.
-
Still thinking about these Webcam prices and possibly more food for thought or maybe not.
So I am told , the average profit on a beer, for a Taverna/Bar owner is between 40-65 cents, dependant on their prices to attract customers.
Assuming 5 local Taverna/Bar owners shared the cost of a new webcam they would each "donate" their profit from approx 810 beers sold during the Summer.
So, a big well done, Dimitris and all local bars , shops etc etc who take part to keep all informed via this service plus look after all guests in many many more ways.

Well it seems to be back in all its wonderful glory! Liking the new view as well!
-
I have NEVER looked at it , not once !!!! Yes , I know , WOTSALLTHATABOUT ?
-
Mr Truth
The Webcam is a truly marvellous item to have. Not only does it keep all updated with "Arillas Goings On"
but also , guys in the Uk can see who is holding hand with who, on the pier!
('ang on a minute, my wife said she was in Bognor Regis, visiting her mother!)
Negg
-
And not visiting me on the bench !!!! :-)
-
LOL Truth, we asked Eggy once if he would stand at the end of the pier in a storm so we could watch him get washed into the sea, the d up didnt want to play though :)

I remember having a 'webcam wave' with my mum and dad one year who were holidaying there. It was great fun and amazing to think that we could do that at the touch of a button!
-
We must also remember to give a big thanks to dimitris for taking his personal time to sort these technical problems ;and the horizon for allowing it to be there, its a great thing to have and brightens many people s days up ,, yiammas
-
Right then , after a few shall we say "strange and stupid postings" by me over the last couple of days (some would say years ! lol) I thouight I would redeem myself and post something contructive!
The webcam highlighted earlier on in this thread is now pretty much dated and the better option would be the Axis 214PTZ 50HZ , so I am told by the "people that know" .
If anyone is feeling rich or a collective could conjure up the money I could arrange to get one delivered to Arillas for around £1300 (including vat) , calling in a few favours and discount for the company that I work for.
Cheers
-
Beautiful sunset tonight, everything looks so calm.
Val x
-
Truth, I'm sure lots of people would be willing to contribute to a webcam.....but you need to run it past the Boss before we all get too carried away!
-
Truth sandy is right as it took me a long time a lot of donations and a lot of politics just to get the bench replaced on the pier ,, but I put it to dimitris first and with his help and a bit of avrio it is now back ,, yiammas
-
The Boss can feel free to contact me at any time should the camera be required.
The offers there if needs be :-)
-
That's the only way it can be done, we have to go through Dimitris first. Also the money has to be in place before you can order.
It's a lot of money to collect Karl. I know from experience it doesn't arrive quickly.

Oh dear! My usual daily fix of live view on the camera seems to be missing just now.
Is it down for maintenance or something, or is it my machine?
