Title: Weather in May
Post by: kvarnell on April 22, 2014, 01:50:14 PM
Just a quick few questions, we have never been to Arillas in May, we arrive the 26th.  What clothes will we need in the day/evenings? will we need air con? are the mossies about? Will I need a coat? and is the sea warm? lol just a few, any other tips welcome.

by then i imagine it will be warming up nicely. we went at the beginning of may last year, and it was mixed, we had hot sunny days, then we had rain, which didnt last long but certainly came down! we had one day when the wind blew so much the trees on the front were bent over to the floor!! those are the days we curled up on the balcony with a book and a drink!!
take a light jacket for the evening, and a small brolly incase you get caught in the rain, whatever the weather enjoy

I always find May in Greece very hit and miss. We went at the end of May last year and there were only a few mossies about , probably because it was quite windy most days. We had 4 good days, a quite good day , an average day and one overcast with a bit of drizzle.
Temperatures were quite good other than one day but night times they fell away.
Sea and pools were cold to be honest
You WON'T been aircon so you will save a few quid there ! lol
Hoping this May will be better , but we always live in hope don't we....

We always go last week May first week June, to be honest over the years it has got cooler.

Last year was the the worst....beautiful hot days and some mediocre ones for the first week.... the second week was great but the nights were cool.  I took a thin cardigan out at night.

Thanks guys for all your replies, we are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and there was nowhere else I wanted to celebrate it.  Cold wind or rain it is a no brainer.  Thanks again.

Bill stayed in the appt then, Val?

I think middle May, this year, will be a 24/25deg based on Weggs yearly weather following.

Last May early 2 weeks were better than late May. It should still be hot though and you should not need air con.
Bring a light jacket for the evening.
Barry.

Funnily enough we had probably our hottest week of weather in Greece ever the one year early June in Lesvos. We have been to Greece in August a few times as well but nothing compared to that week!
Oh yes , the aircon broke as well so it wasn't pleasant at night I can tell you !!!

We always go in May always been nice and warm, few thunder storms, and power cuts, but that is all part of Arillas. I did find last year it did get quite chilli in the evenings. But nothing can spoil our Arillas holiday it's the people that make the holiday for us xxx See you all on the 12th xx
