Hi
More room for the hippy happy brigade to register and meet in the mornings maybe?

Come on Neil
Time to get on the case and find out what's happening
The Arillas roving reporter is always first to find out
-
oh no what a shame! Lovely pizzas and nice people.
-
Would be a shame if true........
As much as we love the Tavernas & Greek food we always eat at least once in the Pizzeria - As said lovely people and wonderful food.

I think you will find that the Pizzeria is more popular than some of us think. I am given the impression, and a little tad of info, that it is having a full make over to attract more guests. I don't like pizzas but , from what I have been told , they do a cracker of a selection and you are spoilt for choice.
and.......... they open over the weekends , in the Winter.

I am pleased to hear this. One of my favourite meals this year was when we had some pizzas delivered to the marinaki, we sauntered down to the beach with ice bucket wine and beers and listened to some George Michael as the sun set. Just perfect x

I passed the pizzaria this morning and there is a notice saying they are opening tonight, lots of movement there ie tables being set up etc; I have been told it is under new ownership with ex wife of Spiros from Marvel being the new owner. I don't know how accurate this is but it is definately opening again.
-
Maybe cos they are so popular they are extending out to the left so
Less room for the hippy happy crowd! Fingers crossed!
-
It was open again when I was there last week....and looking very good....
-
Never tried it as usually can't drag myself away from the Greek food but might give it a go next year.

Am I right in remembering there was a Chinese restaurant too years ago or am I imagining it?
-
Yes there was Sue only lasted one year if i remember correctly
-
I thought so, I think we went once.. it must have been some time ago, so wasnt sure if it was actually in Arillas. We felt like a change, and it wasn't a memorable meal as I remember so not surprised it didn't last longer than a year.
-
Good to hear from you BG!!!
It was 2003 season that the Chinese Restaurant came and went. We agree with your review and only used it once.
Best wishes
Phil

Our first year was 2005 and I was sure that I remembered it then. Did it definately only last one season ?
-
Just realised it was 2006 not 2005.
-
Hi Jersey Bean. I know it was open in 2003 because we were there with some friends who didn't come to Arillas again. I'm relying on what I've heard about only one season, because Jen and my next visit was in 2007 when it certainly had closed. Would be intrigued to know what the truth is about it.
Best wishes

Hope that someone will confirm as I am sure it was there a few doors down from the Malibu Bar but maybe I'm totally wrong.
-
Think your right Jersey Bean, Ina's new shop is there now, if I remember correctly,
Sandra

It definitely only last one year I am 99.9% certain. Couldn’t tell you what year though x
-
It was not there when we went in 2001 or 2004.

Just did a search on the forum. Sorry I don't know how to provide the link from my IPad but there is a post called Arillas first and last and on Oct 02nd 2006 Blondegirl posted about the new Chinese in Arillas. This ties in with what I remember as that was our first year.
-
Thanks folks for all the info. Guess Jen's and my memory is showing signs of age.....

I can't remember the exact years it was open, but all the above posts have an approximation. It was called The Wok House and was, in our opinion the best Chinese food we've ever had. It was open at least two years and we were so sad to find it gone on our next visit. Sadly, it appears it didn't do too well. It did belong to Ina and her family and yes, it is still Ina's shop, I think. I'll never forget that one night Arillas had one of its torrential downpours resulting in all power lost when we were there having a meal. In true Arillas fashion everything kept going, candles came out and, probably, camping gas came into use but we still had a terrific meal, even thought the roof was leaking like a sieve. Oh, such happy memories!
