I saw someone checking in by just showing it on their phone. That was with Ryanair.

Thanks. I am flying with Ryanair and it would be good if I can so I don't have to find somewhere to print them off.

We too flew with Ryanair this Year & also noticed people using their boarding passes on their phones but to be honest it all seemed to be such a painfully slow exercise  - The majority of the time they were frantically searching for them.
You have the facility to check in & print boarding passes up to 30 days (I think) before you fly so we printed both sets of flights before we left home.

We couldnt print our boarding passes for Thomas Cooks for the flight home & I was a bit worried about not having anything to present at check in. I had all the paperwork & asked the rep at the airport, she said we didnt need them to check in. The nice Greek check in girl asked if we had boarding passes or should she print them, which she did. I used to like it in the old days when you had all of your tickets prior to travelling.

Neil & Gill - You can only check in with Ryanair 7 days before your flight and each flight ie outward and return is separate check in so unless you prebook your seats this means you are likely to be in Corfu when you need to check in for your return  flight which is easy to do but not so easy to print your boarding pass off. For this reason, this year we paid for our seats for the return flight only which cost us £12 each. Had I known we could just show boarding pass on our phones then I wouldn't have bothered. A couple who we know were on the same flight back as us and we shared a taxi to the airport with had a problem getting their boarding passes printed off in Arillas and in the end Spiro from Bardis SS got them printed off for them somewhere in Corfu town when he was there one day. However turned out they were on the same row as us but we had paid for our seats. Frustrating but this is why the airlines do these  things to make money. Had I known you could just show your boarding pass on your phone I would have done that and saved us £12 each - £36 in total.

Yes, we did this for our EasyJet flight back from Corfu in June - no hassle at all: surprisingly quick and easy!

Hi Sonia

Didn't realise this - We had booked our seats so presumed it was normal - Didn't mind the extra cost as it also got us in the priority queue so no worries regarding cabin luggage.
1st time with Ryanair & overall impressed - Also enjoyed flying from East Midlands which is only a 90 minute drive and booked an overnight stay with parking for 15 nights with Holiday Extras for £62 which was a great experience as the hotel turned out to be a Radisson Blu - Our holiday started the day before we flew as we took advantage of the Spa facilities there!!

Next Year Thomsons are flying from Doncaster so even closer (40 minutes max)

PS - We met whilst in Arillas - Didn't realise until later though as I recognised your Husband from your Avatar - Jill & I were sat upstairs in the corner at the Horizon the windy night - I took a picture of you all with your daughters tablet - Although that was a windy night it got even stronger towards the end of our holiday with strong seas & changeable weather - Even a little rain!!.

Might see you next Year & this time we'll say hello......

Ah Neil. What a shame we didn't make the connection at the time but thanks for taking the photo. It was my tablet and photo turned out great. Perhaps I will try and post it on the forum if I can figure it out.  My husband never changes so that is why everyone recognises him. Lol.
What a windy night that was. We were gonna have dessert but didnt bother because of the wind. The other couple who were on same flight as us home were also at the Horizon on the sam!e night and sat. On the balcony at the front. Arillas is a small place. We met some people on a trip to Mathraki and wensaid to them that once we now had met them that we would seem them again in Arillas and sure enough we saw them 3 or 4 times.

We have flown from Doncaste before with Thomson to Corfu but it was part of a package deal. When I have looked at flight only with them I have found them to be expensive. Have you not found that,?

Hi Sonia

Glad the photo turned out OK - We also saw you at the Marina on Saturday night but this time you were with a large group.

Didn't look at flight only from Doncaster - We have booked a package deal to Mathraki again.

This Year we stayed at the Marinaki & absolutely loved it but the Thomson price was too good to miss - We paid less than we did 3 Years ago so decided to treat our Son & girlfriend to a return visit also. (1st time I've ever booked next Years holiday before I've even been on this Year's)

Would highly recommend the Marinaki though - Waking up in the morning to that view & breakfast/evening drinks on the balcony were to die for - Will definitely return.

Yes we were at the Greek night with a group of five Scottish people who we have got to know through staying at Bardis SS at the same time for 3 years in a row. Yes, the Marinaki looks lovely and it would be my second choice after Bardis. Wish another airline did flights from Doncaster like Easyjet or Ryanair as Doncaster would be even nearer for us than East Midlands. Thomson too expensive flight only.

Sonia it is utterly fabulous. The days blisteringly hot, the nights lovely and mild. The best thing ever is just us 5 for perhaps the last time. Live is extremely goog!!

Yes, all the major airlines offer this via apps on mobile phones now. I personally have used Ryanair, Jet2 & Easyjet. It is so easy & simple. All the boarding passes for the booking are accessed by swiping to the left/right - the airline staff are all fully trained up to use this.

Just remember if they are on your own phone, make sure you scan yourself last and let the other party members go through before you.

I know RyanAir will let you do the online check in via the app, which is great if you need to do this whilst on holiday.

Yes Ness, I have both boarding passes on my phone when we go.

Also, if say you lost/damaged your phone, you can download the app on another phone, log in to your account again on the app & all your boarding passes will be there. 😊
