The compensation bill for their recent cancellation of flights debacle, equated to three and half days profits.
The airline revealed business was booming despite wrecking the travel plans of 750,000 passengers.
Profits jumped 11% to 1.14bn gbp in the 6 months to September end, and it flew 72.1 million passengers again an 11% increase.
