Title: Euro rate looking good...
Post by: Jo Wissett on December 06, 2019, 11:50:19 PM
Just seen 1.16 today. Tempted to change what I have saved so far for a little gain in anticipation of the election what’s everyone’s thoughts?

Jo , hard to call. - We transferred sterling over at e1.171 , last week. - Yesterday we could have got close to e1.18. - Doesn't sound a lot but when you equate it to a "4 months Corfu living allowance" it's quite a few euros extra.
Cheers

Very tempted to buy now. We're putting euros in Christmas envelopes for some of my family as my children and Grand children are finally joining in Arillas this year for the first time. Might wait a bit longer as suggested?

Hi
With the good news from the election and the end of a hung parliament hopefully it will go higher soon. It was up to 1.21 today online.
Thanks to our northern disillusioned friends.
With the uncertainty now over, of the word I am not allowed to say, we can move on.
I will have to change my signature.

Good News?? - Sounds like you voted just for a good exchange rate??
However , it is good exchange rate , at the moment. -

For the euro exchange rate I recommend you guys try "Transferwise"

For Geoff , I would say ... re-arrange the letters in " It's Conservatives" and you get "I see Con-artists"
(I can use the 2 V's left over - Winston did it , I just need to turn the hand the other way)
Cheers

Luv it , Geoff , but over the years many people have said to me .... Christmas is never Christmas without brussels!!
but... the exchange rate continues to sprout! - A small consolation to ease the long term pain.

The problem for us is that when the euro rate is better the price of our property drops. - Maybe a good time to buy for you UK guys??
£195,000 euros at 1,18
£191,000 at current exchange. - Hope is doesn't go to e1,25!! - selfish or what??

Hi Negg

Your  loss in Arillas maybe offset by the news that house prices in the UK , all regions, have increased by an average of 2.2%, due to the Boris bounce.

Good to see he took time away , from his residence, to visit those flooded areas from storm Dennis.
(As he did when he was campaigning for votes)
I think the Boris bounce is relevant. - What goes up sometimes doesn't come down. (and if it does he won't catch it)

Please p[ease please, don't do politics on this forum. I know that anything is open for discussion on this forum and I could ignore it, but I personally read it to cheer me up and to escape from all the negative things that are going on this world and not to discuss bloody Boris!!!

Sorry Suzy61. - I think the older I get, the ability not to bite back is being lost. - (Victor Meldrew again!!) -      But yer quite right.
So........... sit back and enjoy the fact that £1000, today, will get you e1190.17, after Transferwise commission. (1.194)
.............. jess my Ouzo for this valuable info.
Cheers

Aww thank you for that Eggy  and I should say sorry too for having a rant. It wouldn't normally bother me but had an upsetting day yesterday but that's no excuse as people are entitled to discuss politics.
However, it is great to hear about the euro rate and hopefully it stays that way, or dare I say get even better.
