I am glad you posted the Easyjet Picture, Dimitris. It will be so exciting to have a vertical take off from the beach and even better to have no transfers to the airport to worry about. Just imagine on departure day, pack case, breakfast, walk to landing point near beach, the jet arrives, you get on and then you take off for home.

I suppose Arillas was a good choice for Easyjet to test the new VTOL jet, especially as Stelios Haji-Ioannou knows the area well as he spent many holidays there when he was a young boy.

The new jets will be ideal for Corfu because the current runway is short and not very good for conventional take-off and landings.

Hopefully the new service will start in 2011.

Just had a sad thought though, we could be waving goodbye to everyone when we leave, or the other thought we could be on the beach watching them leave.  Which ever way it would be horrible.  (I must remember its not real!!! :-) )

Taxi fares from airport to Brouklis is still around 50 euros each way  ( These Taxi drivers are bandits aren't they?)

That was really funny - well done!

I agree with Blonde Girl though. It would be way too sad to have to take off in Arillas - I wouldn't be able to get on the plane!
