« on: May 10, 2008, 08:34:51 PM »
having compared rates on the net,the best i saw was 1.2416 fromwww.travelmoneyservices.com on contacting them they told me that the longer notice date you gave resulted in a better rate.I have ordered for delivery on 27 may and got a rate of 1.2472 commission free as the order was above £500.Hope this is of some help.

Hi Everyone
Wish I'd known that information, Briant, yesterday.  Changed £560 into euros at the post office and got a rate just over 1.18.  She said the rate dropped from 1.21 to 1.18 yesterday.  However in Lincoln today, the Coop were still offering 1.21, so it pays to shop around it seems.
Never mind - will just have to economise on the Mythos next week.
Best wishes
Pat

Hi Everyone
Thanks Riggers and Lindypops for your comments.  Yes going short on Mythos was a bad idea - never mind I'll think of something.
At least by going to the post office in the village I'm helping to keep it open, and it was only a short walk, and there was no queue, so perhaps it wasn't a bad deal at all.
The ticker it ticking down nicely so it won't be long now.
Best wishes
Pat

Does anyone know how many euros I can get to the pound in Arillas. I'm not sure whether it's better to shop around at home, or get traveller's cheques and exchange them in resort. Last year I didn't change my leftover euros back to pound, and they're worth about 15% more now.
